Last year I decided to try out Ilford Ortho Plus, which is an orthochromatic black and white film. I read online that it’s supposed to be good for landscapes and portraits, so I went to Stanford’s Cactus Garden to take some portraits of plants. All of the photos were shot on Bronica SQ-A with a 65mm f/4 lens, developed in Ilfotec DD-X and scanned on Epson V600.
Ortho Plus has no sensitivity for red light, so these dark red plants look almost black.
This barrel cactus is just so beautiful.
Green plants lit up by bright sun became almost white in color when shot with Ortho Plus.
